Live Film
As a Genre
Live-captured performance art on the border between theatre and film.
Our independent live film studio, the BpSkizo Group,
has been experimenting with the live film genre since 2021.
What Is Live Film?

Live film: Filming. Theatre. stream.
Live film is a performing art that blends the presence of theater with the visual world of filmmaking. It is a live shoot taking place in front of an audience, resulting in a work that can be presented as a standalone film. Its goal is to provide a novel, never-before-seen experience by crossing genre boundaries.

Filming: visual compositions on stage
The cinematographers and actors create a film live on stage according to a pre-determined choreography. Here, the camera is a character: it rehearses with the actors from the very beginning and is an integral part of the creative process.

LIVE EDITING: no post-production
The recording and the stream happen simultaneously. We do not edit afterward; there is no retouching. The viewer sees exactly what is unfolding on-site at that very second.

BEHIND THE SCENES: Active Audience Participation
There is no hidden crew: the cameras, monitors, and live editing are an integral part of the set. The filming process remains visible to the audience throughout the entire performance.

THEATRE: The Priority of the Moment
The power of the performance comes from the risk and uniqueness of a live broadcast.
STREAM: Live Cinema
The editing is not a spontaneous action, but a part of the choreography: every shot and cut occurs according to a composed schedule. We are not recording a play, but producing a film in real time: every transition has its own fixed place and time.

BROADCAST: Unlimited Digital Distribution
The technical infrastructure allows us to stream anywhere, at any time, and in any language: both live and pre-recorded.
